I can't see the logic in rehoming those effected in the flats they have arranged

They have bought via a housing association something like 60 flats that cost £1m+ each with concierge, cinema complex etc

I can't disagree that they needed to do something but surely it would have been more logical to buy houses at £200k+ bought more houses, housed people who didn't have a house to lose in the first place if they had that money sat around

If they wanted to keep them together, they could have bought a new housing estate, I'm sure they will have something similar in there area, as we do here, 100-200 new builds costing £250-400k, no service charge etc

Those flats are the "affordable flats" in the complex. Not the £1M versions. Doubt those bells & whistles are included!

according to those who worked hard to buy one and live there they will be getting all the luxuries of a posh complex flat, even if they are affordable housing, although i haven't seen how many flats are in the complex 60 odd flats, is quite high number, normally 10 or so is a rough figure

All our modern materials have flame retardants which are carcinogenic, so this is not exactly an idea situation in itself. If the flash fire doesn't BBQ you. You will be barbequed rather sooner than later due to all the carcinogenic compounds that don't actually work, but give you a shorter life due to poor health!

Apart from checking all smoke alarms to make sure they are working, it is probably worthwhile trying to minimise non natural materials in the home! Difficult, but one could at least start with the "low hanging fruit"
