No we don't wind new people up - anyway yes at 4 deg's or less you'll get a double beep. I'd suggest you read the manual cover to cover twice although don't do it while drinking red wine as everything goes blurred after a while

Welcome MacW, I didn't have a freelander 1 so can't comment but apparently the 1.8 petrol had a real reputation for being bad, the diesel TD4 was supposed to be better but still plagued with issues. As for the Freely 2, although no one can guarantee that it will be fault free and there might be the occasional issue the driving experience is great and you'll love it |

The wife had a FL1 3 door sport when I had my FL2, got rid of the FL1 ASAP as it was crap, noisy and gutless and got her a FL2. Now changed my FL2 for a D3 (as per signature)

I've been looking into buying a FL2 for a few weeks now. Test drove an auto XS at Chipperfield & got a few quotes from from various places including drive the deal ..... then I found this forum. Lots of really useful info - plus it helped reassure me that the reliability issues with the FL1 were no basis on which to judge the FL2.
