No we don't wind new people up Wink - anyway yes at 4 deg's or less you'll get a double beep. I'd suggest you read the manual cover to cover twice although don't do it while drinking red wine as everything goes blurred after a while Thumbs Up
As for the step question, I can't help you there i'm afraid, but I'm sure many can - to be clear are you saying you want a step that's lower to the floor ?

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HST Manual Sumatra Black
Afternoon all!

Afternoon everyone,

Not been on the forum before, but have had my Freelander 2 (2006 HSE with HST bodykit in Sumatra black, with black leather) coming up to 3 years at the end of April.

Another Yorkshire member, over on the East coast, so we've had lots of fun with the snow the last few months.

Cheers,

Ric

Scotland 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Zermatt Silver

Hi to All,

I have ordered a new XS (Stornoway Gray - Privacy Glass) which I should take delivery of in the next few days. This is not my first Freelander!! Unfortunately I purchased one of the first back in 1998 - lovely to drive when I could !!it was so unreliable - I tolerated it for 18 months and then got rid!! hopefully the F2 will be different a experience. It certainly was when I had the test drive a few weeks ago! Time will tell!!! What are the thoughts of the forum. Are there any of you who have had both versions of the Freelander and how would you compare them?

Welcome MacW, I didn't have a freelander 1 so can't comment but apparently the 1.8 petrol had a real reputation for being bad, the diesel TD4 was supposed to be better but still plagued with issues. As for the Freely 2, although no one can guarantee that it will be fault free and there might be the occasional issue the driving experience is great and you'll love it Thumbs Up

The wife had a FL1 3 door sport when I had my FL2, got rid of the FL1 ASAP as it was crap, noisy and gutless and got her a FL2. Now changed my FL2 for a D3 (as per signature)

You'll love the FL2, miles better than the FL1 Thumbs Up ______________________

Buying a FL2

I've been looking into buying a FL2 for a few weeks now. Test drove an auto XS at Chipperfield Rolling Eyes & got a few quotes from from various places including drive the deal Smile ..... then I found this forum. Lots of really useful info - plus it helped reassure me that the reliability issues with the FL1 were no basis on which to judge the FL2.

Finally decided to get a Manual GS, Lago Grey, + leather seats & contacted Jeremy at Lookers so that I could drive a manual & see what he could do.... I'm so glad I did - he couldn't have been more helpful - very knowledgeable about the car & a great manner about him.... & when it came time to do the deal he made me smile!... Very Happy Very competitive ... so I signed up there & then. Delivery expected in May.

So far so good... if you're in the market for a LR then shop around & then call Jeremy .... you've really nothing to lose & I'm sure he'll make you smile. Very Happy
