For manuals, DPF came in 2010 so all 2011 cars will have it. For autos, you may be able to find a 2010 FL2 without DPF but I think all 2011 models will have it. The easiest way to tell without seeing the car is the road tax. For autos, I think £285 = no DPF. |

All the Face Lift models (MY11) came with a DPF, prior to that it was an option. Having a DPF shouldn't be a problem, I had a Freelander with a DPF for two years, you never knew it was fitted, the Disco I have had for just over two years now, apart from a throaty exhaust when it is regenerating, again don't know it's there.

dpf's are inevitable. no point trying to avoid unless you just bail out of diesel and go petrol

DPF: removal of DPF is an automatic MOT fail if car was manufactured with one.

Am not anti dpf , but if I am going to pay a lot for the car , don't really want to have any issues , not a problem to give it a blast once a week to clear it, would consider a my11 with facelifted bumper dash etc.

I have a late 2010 model facelift with DPF and don't do a huge number of miles. Never had an issue with DPF and not knowingly regenerated. It gets a long run every now and then.

As above, tank of fuel in the Freelander lasted two weeks, a long journey for the wife was five miles, same with the Disco, the Disco hasn't seen a Duel Carrigaway let alone a Motorway for two months, still no DPF problems.

My 13MY Fl2 got serviced at 5.5k miles, DPF never gave me any problems over the year I had it. 6 of my LRs have had DPFs and never gave me any trouble, I give them a good run a couple of times a month just to help keep them clean. An excuse to escape for a bit really. Wouldn't even know it was there.

We picked up a 63 plate GS auto the other day. Land Rover approved vehicle. 3 years warranty! 12,500 miles on the clock, and best of all no sunroof!
