Looked at 62 plate gs yesterday , 20,000 leather, heated windscreen, full size spare , tints, came close to doing a deal but not quite right, think I might miss the sat nav not being built in , was one in Lincoln with nav but now sold so the search goes on

My FL2 is back in the dealers again after they failed to fix the latest fault (Reduced Engine Power). I was trying to rational and decide just how reliable these cars actually are. My brother in law has one that has done 110k miles and nothing has gone wrong with it at all. In my family's case 3 out of 4 with big problems. We know of others with diff and suspension problems at relatively low mileages.

I haven't heard any horror stories so far, I've yet to take delivery. On the big Disco it should last until its first service, on the DS EU6 which has 2 year service intervals it will require a top up by the owner. It freezes at -11 and doesn't like temperatures above 25. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |

The Japanese manucturers have been plagued with serious safety recalls over the past couple of years, especially Toyota. The cars as a whole seem to be pretty reliable and reasonably well put together. I've had a couple of Hyundais, a Tucson and a Santa Fe and would go back to them in a minute. The new Tucson looks very nice.

I know on trucks/coaches the adblue tank is a separate tank to the fuel tank, and has a blue filler cap.

It can be bought from the dealer or some motor factors stock it. VW charge £1.50/litre inc fitting. LR include it in their service schedule.

Think I am close to doing a deal on 63 plate xs , aintree green , armrests, leather , heated screen, sat nav, will be going to dealers on Saturday to finalise things , any things I should make sure of before I hand over the hard earned cash? Drives really well 38000 miles.

Four new tyres, at that mileage they could well be shot or not have much left, if they have been replaced then make sure they are the original type and not a set of 'cheapies' dealers have had their knuckles wrapped recently for selling cars with non genuine bits attached, I would hope this included tyres, might be a good last minute bargaining chip
