United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

Bill Turner: I bought genuine LR parts but mostly from ebay. Rear discs from Dan. Here is what I said on this thread on 7th Dec (page 18 ):

"Changed my front discs and pads today. Discs were down to 25.55mm Embarassed Fitted genuine LR pads & discs bought from the 'bay.... Cost? £95.98. Very Happy Rears to do at next opportunity, although those discs are still in the wear limits. I have the new parts already, cost was £19.98 for genuine LR (TRW) pads from the 'bay and £74.90 for the discs from Dan at Duckworths. Total parts cost £190.86 Thumbs Up"

Hope this helps!

Bob,

Many thanks for the info, I shall email Dan immediately as I do not do Fleabay, as my daughter had $600.00 ripped out of her bank account by a tea leaf in the US and it took Fleabay 3 days to reimburse her.

Again many thank and best regards,

Changed the glow plugs after a couple of days not starting and we found all 4 not working.while the manifold was off I checked the swirl flaps and found 1 broken off but still in the manifold luckily,so I removed the others just in case and everything seems ok so far.

Paul - Did the old plugs come out easy enough? Talking to an AA mate of mine the other day and he reckoned they can be a tad tricky as they can become calcified over time???

Really need to get mine done as its a bit lumpy on starting from cold for a few seconds but there is a few seconds delay from pushing the button to starter motor engaging so its trying its best to warm up before starting.

Deciding now on whether to change them myself, go Indy or main dealer? I imagine price to do them will go up in that order too.... MY2010 TD4 HSE Santorini Black, 19" Alloys, Almond Leather, Lux Pack, Rear Spoiler, Adaptive Xenons

They came out no problem at all and mines done 86,000 miles,we went down the route of taking the inlet manifold off as it seemed the better way of doing them just incase they did break,it's not a hard job to tackle just a lot of things that need to be removed to get at them.

Hi Paul, did you take any pics? Is this an easy job to get to the swirl flaps? My plugs are fine but I am considering EGR blanking and removing the flaps.
Cheers.

Once the manifold is off then yes it's a easy job to get at the flaps, the manifold removal isn't difficult just involved as there are a few things that need moving for access .no photos we didn't have much time as it was a bit cold today.

Only one left at home, the other three have flown. This one is approaching the 'dads taxi' age, so I am bracing myself. Whistle
