I have done 2 trips from Plymouth - Cardiff now, both trips stopping once or twice. . The first time I got 46mpg at the pump fill up (which was only 0.1mpg out from the onboard computer) and today I did it, and it actually managed 50mpg at the pump. I couldn't actually believe it. I was doing just under 60mph most of the way up. Amazing for a 4x4 in td4 2007 model. I could understand it if it was 2012, but not 2007!!! just shows what you can get if you drive economically.

Did a 60 mile drive and just before setting off, I reset the trip counter. I was astonished to see my average mpg was 57.2. Had cruise control set at 50mph, driving immediately behind one of those really tall HGV. It was a 70mph motorway.

Tigger - 2007 TD4 with 91,000 on the clock - I get around 28-29mpg from TD4 manual over about 200 miles each week on purely town work. regularly get 40-42mpg on a38 up and back to Exeter. 45mpg if I go further up to Bristol, I'm not an expert but I don't have the air con on, I lift off early and coast in gear up to traffic lights to try to anticipate them changing so I don't have to stop. very gentle accelerating and smooth gear changes, and cruising about 60mph on the A38, Hardly use more than 10-20% throttle when pulling away unless of an urgent need to do so. I also regularly use Forte Diesel Treatment and premium diesel from BP to keep the fuel system clean etc

I found this on youtube back alongt to support the extra mpg with BP Ultimate. It could have been staged and isn't scientific but who knows.

My MPG records for the past 2+ years are on line for all to see (see sig below). Presently showing 33.3 on the dash - which is pretty average all the time I have had it. I notice the newer models on here can be more economical. Maybe the Gen 4 Haldex gives an improvement. I have used 2SO for the past 15-16 months too.
