Hi, The heated windscreen that I had fitted to my lat car (MINI) was great of demisting and even better when the front screen has frozen overnight. I was that impressed I have it on my Freelander, to demist the car you hit the 'prog' button and it switches on the front and rear screen and sorts out the heater controls. I guess that it wouldn't be the cheapest thing to get retro fitted, as you would need a new screen plus wiring and a new heater control panel. Would probably cost a fair chunk more than the 250ukp for the pack containg the screen and washer jets. Regards Paul; |

Thanks UKdave and Paul ...would have hoped the de misting prog was more effective than the air con but will try it out next cold snap we get.

Used it once on a rented car in USA... Got like 1 cm ice in the morning and it took less than 2 minutes to have a clear windscreen... once you can get in your car start the engine and activate it.

Oh yes indeed . It's only when it reaches minus 5 deg C that we put our shirts back on and stop having BBQ's ______________________ 2011 Full Fat RR 4.4 TDV8 2012 FL2 SD4 Auto HSE 2013 Kawasaki Versys 650 |

That is what those gas burners on the side of the BBQ are for, to have a little saucepan of hot water to stand the sauces in, to stop them freezing. |

Hello Gold Stone,I had a winter pack fitted on mine from new that had a heated front screen in with it.not been used yet in really cold temps. The electrics are all there to plug in a heated screen all you need is the screen at a cost of about £250. I have a LR2GS with privacy glass and winter pack |

As an aside, a/c air clears a screen that's got moisture/condensation on the inside quicker than normal air as it's very dry, so absorbs the moisture on the screen |
