What 'we' xxxx's was saying you do have 2 different tone low pitch rear high pitched front

if say the rears are changing tone when reversing near something then you have a problem

Mine's a GS with front sensors which have develped a fault. Cambrian LR intend to fix the problem before Christmas

What i noticed today was lots of running water coming from the rear bumper

I had parked my car on the flat on my drive, drove up the drive to get some stuff out the boot, leaving the car on the slope nose up

The water was dripping water from the bottom of the bumper below one of the sensors, I am wondering if the plastic boot lip protector allows water in and down the back of the bumper, past the sensors where it corrodes them away over time and if the boot lip protector was sealed the water wouldn't get in  Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Front sensors are always packing up in the wet. LR have done a couple of software updates and told me they can do no more  Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

I have only rear sensors (it's an S) and in heavy rain(which we also have over here in Belgium) sometimes when reversing (with no obstacles behind ) the bloody thing starts saying me I am to close... But doing this while servicing... so it's dificult to find if there is a real problem (says the dealer...) Mine goes mad now and again. the last time was in france in the summner in 37 deg and no rain. I pulled the fuse out and made a note to take it to the dealer. A couple of weeks later i had to replace a differant fuse so thought I would put the fuse back in and it worked fine (until two days ago) in very heavy rain. Well its gets serviced in january so shall ask the dealer to sort. Freelander 2.2e HSE , Privacy, Fully debadged, 19" Chrome SHadow alloys

Are the sensors easy to get to from under the car, or is it a bumper off job

If it's easy, then drying them off and applying some RTV (silicon sealant) should stop the water getting into them. ______________________
