If it has been a heavy rain, parking sensors sometimes goes bananas. Had it in for fix first time it happened.

My font ones fail (continuious tone) when ever it is wet - since day 1, 2.5 years ago. The font tone is too loud at the best of times, so it just adds to the annoyance. I've had the sensors replaced to no avail. I will have a go at the dealer one last time before the warranty expires early next year. Shame, because other than a split on the seats (another "known" fault/feature) the car has been almost faultless. |

Mine had the continuous beep for a while after being parked near Manchester airport for two weeks before xmas. This has since gone back to normal, not been to dealers yet but will let them know.

I'm getting a bit tired of dealers telling us how it's hard to diagnose this problem. It's clearly very common and I can't believe Landrover UK aren't acutely aware of it. It has to be water ingress in the sensors or their connectors and the solution would be to better waterproof them. If necessary I'll do it my damn self if the dealers are just going to fob-off. Has anyone had experience of removing the sensors? Is it a 'bumper off' job?? |

Got mine back from the dealers after they looked at the sensors...apparently they said that spraying WD40 on the sensors sorts the problem...I can guarantee it doesn't...because it did it as I reversed out the car park! However, mine do stop the constant tone if I wipe them with them sounding off, so mine look like water resting on the surface is to blame. Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35
