update......

Popped into the dealers, who told me another freelander 2 came in with the sames seat dropping issue, only for land rover, to send the seat out to be fitted and that was in the last week!
got straight on the phone to LR customer services who could not understand why they didnt have to send a picture in of the owner sat in the seat like I had too!!! Evil or Very Mad
Also she stated that my seat was incorrectly cancelled but happily had been re ordered!

Not happy! Sad

Still waiting a call back to tell me when the seat will be at the stealers!!!!

the saga continues.... Anyhoo off oot on me mobike.....

My dealer has said "Yes there is a fault " BUT no to an electric seat Sad i have to wait and see what LR are going to do You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

My seat is definately dropping now, but i've been so happy with the car generally that I thought i'd wait until it's next service is due. That's about 8000 miles yet so i'd guess 3 months approx but it does seem to be getting worse...is it a long job to have done if you can get an acceptance of fault in the first place? If it's say, an hour, I may be tempted to have a pop at getting it done sooner than later.

Weds I drove down a long rutted and bumpy, (tarmac of sorts), farm track to get to the foreshore and it was noticable even after this short stint...... Surprised

Back in next week for the 4th time ist changed base and now the third time for tests!!!!! You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

call land rover customer services, tell them its not good enough, and not fit for purpose, this is what i did, after one base change, the electric one went in and resolved the issue, dont take no for an answer, they were great, apart from asking to take a pic of me sat in the drivers seat! Cool Anyhoo off oot on me mobike.....

Seats going down

I had that, found out there is a slight flaw in the design location of the handle, every time I get out my thigh catches it and pushes it down every so slightly and that over time it does lower the seat!

pump the seat up to the top

sit in your FL2

then get out, feel the underneath of your leg.

does it push the lever down?

Hey presto, thats what the issue was with mine and a friends.

try it, see if it is

i only found out midway getting land rover to do this that the other!!

Poor design, therefore it should be replaced by an electric seat. Anyhoo off oot on me mobike.....
