Does anyone feel when they jack their front seat up, it seems to slowly but surely lower itself???

I have the same problem, dealer does not seem to be able to fix it so I just give the lever a crank every so often. I weigh 80 Kg so not huge either.

This has been a constant feature of my car (manual seat adjustment). Big Cry

I've developed an instinctive action of checking it frequently, by which I mean probably every 30 minutes or so Shocked Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!

Despite setting memory for the seat to be right back, whenever i press the memory to get it back to where I have set it, I always have to "push" the seat back a couple of centimeters. An minor but annoying fault. Never goes down on its own though Freelander 2.2e HSE , Privacy, Fully debadged, 19" Chrome SHadow alloys

My seat has dropped since the day I got the car in March 09. It has been back to the dealers three times and had a new seat base fitted. It was in on Monday and they said that LR Tech had requested that they took a picture of me in the car seat at the position I usually had it set, cannot see how this will help them. Any way I have had enough and have complained to Customer Services saying that the car is not fit for purpose if they cannot fix the problem. It is obviously a national problem as the technician admitted there was a problem with frl 2 's and Disco's seat bases but LR are not able to solve it I also asked Customer Services if they were going to do a recall they were non committall
This is spoiling what was a really fine motor especially the way LR are handling the issue Fuji White GS 12 privacy glass leather retrim

Ask them to replace the seat with an electric model, problem solved probably cheaper than numerous attempts to fix the existing seat?

None of the dealers want to know...Is a new base a solution? What rights do we have?

Mine has the same problem since I bought it (a couple of years ago).
I compromise though by leaving it at its lowest position and rearranging the rest of the seat adjustments including the steering wheel. I didn’t say anything to my dealer as I don’t think they could solve it and they could also hold me up at the service.
An upgrade to the electric seat adjustment sounds good but I don’t think they would do it for free. Neutral
