A pretty useless RAC mechanic then, as that is not how the fuel system works. It could be that the transfer pump in the tank has failed though. That pump just transfers fuel from one side of the tank to the other, due to the shape of the tank & the position of the fuel pick up point. How much fuel was in your tank at the time? (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

Sorry but I don’t understand your reply; even in the detailed drawing it refers to as fuel sender not transfer pump.

You will get a better response if you post your problem in the Tech Section. (You have been lucky that these keen members spotted your technical question in the WELCOME Stream) Have you searched? https://www.freel2.com/forum/search.php?se...rch_time=0 FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011) FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015) Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History (Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?) |

Download the JLR workshop manual from the Home/General section and read all about the fuel system there. https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic10621.html Jules |

Firstly thank you for accepting me as a member, I’m not totally new to the LR family having owned several different variants but my latest as of yesterday is a 2013 Firenze red D4 Dynamic. This was bought to replace a Evoque SD4 which we owned for just 9weeks the steering rack failing after just 2of those weeks, due to the lead time to fix the car we got our money back for that one and bought the Freelader our first series 2 and so far it’s a big hit with the family. |
