how often do your fans come on

howoften do your radiator fans come on?

I am noticing that mind is on after nearly every single trip, some when i am a little heavy footed, but more often when i am just cruising through town, but not start stop driving

I am also getting quite low mpg round town, about 22mpg Rolling Eyes

but reseting the computer when having a steady drive to harrogate i got 31mpg

i keep think it might be a faulty heat sensor or something, my dealer just said its doing what its meant to do Rolling Eyes Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Tricky one that - I have not realy noticed the fan on at all (maybe I am deaf) Shocked I am sure it does come on, but as the winter snow is only just melting, the temperatures have not been warm enough yet to get the car "overheated". Next "warm" drive I will check to see/hear.
However, what are the indications that your fan is on every trip apart from the increased mpg Question 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc.

i don't notice the fan been on whilst driving, no difference in the temp gauge on the dash, thats always constant about half way

When i stop, get out the car, the fan is roaring away for 30 seconds to a minute.

also,

I have waded the car in the June 08, through muddy water, and flushed the rad out as much as i can with flowing water everytime I wash it, but it still runs muddy after all this time though Confused

I have even sprayed my snowfoam into it through the grills to loosen the dirt, that is the only other thing i can think it could be related to Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Try an airline air gun on your radiator , I have one here, but you should try your local garage Whistle

After 2 years and 42000 miles I have never known the fans run on mine - even when stopping after a motorway run when you might expect some heat build up.

so basically I presume nobody elses fans come on

and most people have fetishes for Airstewards with airguns Rolling Eyes

BACK ON TOPIC Exclamation

Does anybody know where the sensors are for the engine temp control, could it be this faulty and thinking the fan needs to kick in, even though the temp gauge says everything is fine Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
