BACK ON TOPIC Exclamation

Does anybody know where the sensors are for the engine temp control, could it be this faulty and thinking the fan needs to kick in, even though the temp gauge says everything is fine

airline stewardess Nick not stewards - I dont have any fetishes about them, do you Shocked

Anyway been on a drive this evening, and got the motor good and warm, but NO fans came on, and I dont realy remember hearing them/it earlier either. My guess is you got a issue to sort out Whistle 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

I did, when I'd been wading at the LRO show. The radiator was clogged up with mud, and although it didn't show up as overheating on the temp gauges, the fans kept kicking in.

It ended up taking me about 2 hours with a hose, running water through the grill, daren't use a jet wash, in case I damaged the radiator.

Have you been wading, or offroad lately?

Is everything looking clear behind the grill from above or below?

If not, then I'd guess a faulty temp sensor, and an easy fix, but then again, I'm not a mechanic so I could be wrong.

i waded the car last year, through clay muddy water at Tong

and have been running a hose as much as possible, but i wouldn't say i have done 2 hours on it

going to give it a really good going over, get as much out as possible, from the front and see if i can get to the back, by taking the fan casing/surround off

like the LR tech said, "if its coming on its doing its job", but i don't think it should be coming on as much

maybe i should have a off road radiator, like i do for my side tubes Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Biggest pain I found was that I can't work out how to remove the grill, so difficult to clear the radiator.

My cleaned basically meant that I kept running water through until dirt didn't come out the bottom of the car.

May be worth a go with the hose, and see if it comes out muddy.
