I know this is an old subject and related to low volume but has anybody experienced sensors that are too loud and managed to lower the volume without a trip to the dealer with the usual exorbitant labour cost?

I am becoming increasingly frustrated by the complexity of the Freelander 2's electronics. Great when it all works, but costly when an error pops up and the lack of facility to enable users to change settings, get meanigful error codes etc. I have an, albeit, basic OBD II reader which has worked well for other cars but has limited use with the FL2. Anybody know of a useful low cost diagnostic kit that can be loaded on to and connected to a laptop?

TOO LOW!!!????

Mine are terribly loud, my eardrums meet inside my head...

Utmost annoying, not only when parking but also in narrow off-road driving

This is what i dislike most in this otherwise charming car. If this could be solved I would be really happy.
The main LR-service plant in Stockholm has no cure for this, no software adjustment. It beeps in the stereo and there is no dedicated speaker that could be damped.

Help appreciated, please!

Cheers, all!

You can always switch off the sensors by pressing the parking sensor switch on the dash but then, of course, you would lose the sensors. Which is most annoying to you? The noise or the lack of sensors? I often switch them off. - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.

Yes, I know, but when parking, shifting from 1st gear to reverse it BEEPS and if your in a tight spot manoeuvring close to trees or rocks it BEEPS, that button will soon be worn out...

Itīs much too loud, it drives me nuts!

I know this is an old thread but I got my FL2 HSE just over a week ago and I also found the volume on the parking sensors way to loud. After searching the forum this morning and failing to find a solution I just reversed my car out of the garage and found the sterio volume control actually adjusts the parking sensor volume.

I also found it remembers what you set it to, I tested this by turning the engine off, giving it a minute and started it up again, reversed towards he garage door and it beeped at the new lower volume. FL2 HSE SD4, black, privacy glass, spoiler, 19' diamond cut alloys.

Parking sensors, sat nav commands, traffic announcements, phone and radio all adjusted and kept in memory by volumn control on steering wheel. This also does the speed control when using hill descent.

Ignore my reply on the parking sensor volume adjustment. Thought I had tried this before but mine do not adjust.

Reviving this thread again unfortunately. My new to me 59 plate HSE has both front and rear sensors. The front ones are OK in terms of volume but the rear ones are nearly inaudible. I therefore assume that there are two separate systems involved. The beep emitted on engaging reverse is also OK but then everything goes very quiet beep wise. Previous cars, non Land Rover, have had the facility to adjust things like this available to the driver so I find this quite frustrating. Has an owner fix for this been found yet?
