The number has probably been transferred off the car and been put on retention so will not show up on any search database. It will only show up when the owner puts it on his new vehicle. It can sometimes take a few days to show up once a transfer has taken place. |

I loved the 405s. Had 3 of them. A non turbo saloon, turbo saloon and turbo estate. The non turbo diesel was a good enough going car once you got it wound up, the turbo diesels were just brilliant (in their day) Only 92 hp but they were relatively light. I still wish I had my estate, one of the last built in 96, Diablo Red with black leather interior and the 306 Dturbo 5 spoke alloys it was a beautiful car Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948 2014 Orkney grey Freelander SD4 GS. 2004 Zambezi silver Discovery 2 Td5 (Gone) 1963 Surf blue Morris Mini Minor Super de Luxe (my little toy) |

The 405 was an excellent estate conversion, with a very square load bay, no wheel arch intrusion, huge rear side doors and a long wheel base. It’s biggest disadvantage we’re that noisy and gutless non turbo diesel (35,000 miles a year, carrying heavy machines, in a hilly part of the country) and a dreadful long arm / short leg driving position. Worst of all, when the first one got rolled (at only around 15-20 mph) the roof completely collapsed and I’ve no idea how my wife was ever able to get out |

With warranties extended to 7 years, they came back for a while, but it’s now back to just 9 on the Approve Used site. Just the 8 in black and 1 silver as well. |

Such a shame that these are now becoming so few and far between. There really is nothing out there to replace them with, as nothing compares. |

I also run a R40 M47 engine, we have at least six meets per year, helping each other out with repairs etc, a few FL1 & FL2 owner have started to come so it would be good thing if the forum turned classic in the end. |

Just looked on the LR Approved list and 16 for sale this morning including one for £20k! They certainly seem to be holding their selling prices although I am not sure that it will be the case at trade in.

Don't trade it...sell it privately. Why let the dealer make hard margin at your expense?
