But there are some very nice ones to be had!

I would imagine that a good FL2 must be a good thing to hold in stock. I wonder how many people might come in with and elderly FL2 to look at a modern replacement, only to ask if there are any nice, recent, low mileage FL2’s to be had?

With regard to 190 v 150, my first experience of FL2 was a one day hire with a 190 HSE. The whole nature of the car is steady secure progress so most of the time the extra oomph of the 190 is never used. I bought from choice a 150 GS and have never felt it underpowered; on the contrary it is a very good balance of power relative to the dynamic qualities of the vehicle. 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto

I had all 3 a 08MY 160, then a 11MY 190, then 13MY 150. Couldn’t tell the difference. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

I can definitely tell the difference between my old 2010 pre facelift HSE Auto 160bhp and my 2013 HSE Auto 190bhp..... the 190 IMO is so much smoother and quieter than the 160bhp

Jules - the 28k FL2 on LR approved was for a 2016 Metropolis (HSE LUX with a different badge Laughing )

When you gave the 190 SD4 some welly, then yes it was noticeable but around town they all seemed the same. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

It’s back up to 52 now Thumbs Up

With them selling examples back to a 13 plate, then we may still see them on the used site for another 18 months or so.

I’ll be very sad to see them go; they started me on LR’s and the Evoque/DS would never have given me reason to want to try one.

A sad day that the most popular Land Rover (at one point) and the most reliable made till date JLR’s own words only have 52 in stock. 3 years on from killing the FL2 I’m still a little flabbergasted! MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Sadly inevitable that all of the really decent stuff will work it’s way out of the used list in time.

Because they know they made a mistake getting rid of what was a very good car from its line up.
In the marketing world the design is a dated box instead of having 'sleek lines' like the DS or Evoque but in the real world there are plenty of buyers out there who want a proper looking LR that can do a lot off road and still pull up to a fancy venue looking good.
So the sales people exploit that. Rolling Eyes

Bought mine for that very reason! Old and dated (my wife often describes me as such Rolling with laughter )
Needed a newer rugged practical tow car to replace my old dated rugged practical tow car (Disco Td5). Nothing in the current LR range appeals or is affordable so it was a simple choice really. Still looks very respectable anywhere but not ostentatious like some of McGovern's latest works. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Having had 4 manuals I found that the 2011 model seemed to have a lot more torque and the throttle response was very different. However, my latest, the SD4 auto, is easily the nicest one to drive. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
