Went to an event where the village hall car park was full but there was a steep grassy bank at the end so I put it up on there. When we returned and I reversed off, my wife was outside the car and was gobsmacked as she said that one of the rear wheels was about a foot off the ground and initially started spinning then stopped as the traction control kicked in and FL2 came down on three wheels. She was most impressed and I just said "that's why we buy LandRovers". Very Happy 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Took the caravan to a local company for it to have its annual check over/service.
Not towed since August forget how easy the Freelander makes it feel. Andrew

Wife had to go out last night and given the snow forecast she took the FL2. We live at the end of an unmade up lane with various sloping parts and she got back OK with a couple of inches of snow but there is a steep bit at the top of our drive and she abandoned the car just outside the gate rather than risk sliding into the stone pillars as the car was "sliding around a bit and making juddering noises". I went out and put it in snow mode and went very slowly and with chattering noises from the traction control it came down the drive totally under control. ( HDC would have been too fast) You don't need these capabilities very often but it's nice to know that it's available when you do. Thumbs Up 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Replaced the Bosch Aerotwin wiper blade rubbers with refills, lot cheaper than buying replacement blades.

Left it at home on the charger πŸ˜‚. Went to a farm off the A19 in my Scooby . The side roads and farm tracks were compacted snow . But the point of this post . The First real test of the Bridgestone A005 Weather Control. An absolutely excellent tyre , they have impressed on the dry , in torrential rain and now ice and snow . Don’t be afraid to try them . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Dear Land Rover,

It would be amiss of me not to comment on the Censored design of the Freelander 2, 2.2 litre diesel engine after I performed another service.

Its a great performer with good fuel economy (6.2 litres per 100 kms - 38.6 MPG) but the effing oil filter location, and its removal, requires not only body contortions rivaling extreme yoga, but special tools and the unavoidable oil soaked arm.

Replacement is a little better as the oil bath isn't replayed.

Whilst I'm here bitching about the oil filter I may as well comment on the diesel filter design and lack of in-line priming pump. You DICKS!. Why not have a replaceable element in a housing rather than an expensive "all in-1" unit.

I will no doubt be back in touch in another 4 months when I do another service (sans diesel filter this time).

love

g

Dear grod

I was sorry to learn of your recent issues replacing the oil filter on your vehicle. As you well know, this engine is a Ford/PSA sourced unit, not one designed and manufactured by JLR, therefore, we couldn't give two hoots about your recent service problems. Perhaps you would like to contact the engine manufacturer design team directly; I have attached their email correspondence address for your convenience: couldntgiveastuff@fordpsa.com.au

Might we suggest that next time, you visit your local retailer and part with vast swathes of your hard-earned cash and allow their technicians to get oily arms on your behalf? You know it makes sense!

Love,

CRC (Customer Repellant Centre) x
