Is anyone planning ways in which we can communicate with one another whilst out in the forest? Are people taking radios? If so what sort?

Would be good to have something. I am no radio expert so not sure if the new PMR are any better than CBs?

Communication shouldn't be too much of an issue given we will be in two groups.

I know some (myself included) are taking PMR's (channel 1-10) and have a CB (channel 10). Also each group should be accompanied by a Mountain Rescue vehicle which will have emergency radios etc.

It is worth noting that Mobile phone coverage is very hit and miss.

i wouldn't go out and buy one,

its going to be follow my leader, and I presume there is going to be a leader who will have a form of communication to the others.

I have my mobile phone too, if there is a signal

Nothing wrong with stopping and getting out to see whats ahead and survey the ground or have a chat Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
