United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Sumatra Black

Saying 'hello' as suggested....
Just got a used (56) SE TD4 and am (so far) very happy. Had one or 2 issues which were efficiently resolved under warranty. Tended towards BMW in the past and considered an X5 but opted for FL2 based on the fact that it can go off-road (unlike an X5). Let's hope I am given continued incentive to be a LR convert......

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my new forum friends.

I hesitate to respond, but feel duty bound to confess:
In 1989, I actually took the official Mensa examination and was accepted as a member with a result of 152. I remained a member for 3 years until I realised the futility of it. Membership basically entitles you to a 'free' magazine full of uninteresting articles and the opportunity to network with some sad but clever people.('Yawn')

How this affects the regional relative intelligence quota of the forum remains to be calculated??
Either way, it's nice to be onboard!!

...to keep my mind active devising solutions to the myriad problems that it will no doubt present!? Of course, I jest (I hope).
It's also the closest I could get to buying a British 4x4 - well at least the brand name is British. And I felt some affinity with Land Rover as I have worked for them at many Motor Shows around the world as a sound engineer on their press events. Not sure how long that will continue given the sale to Tata and the 'downturn'.

Hi there. Been viewing the forum for a while now its pretty handy for going to the dealer with ammo regarding common problems ie B Pillar seat belt wear and trip resetting itself. Had Freelander for 12 months now after having VW R32 MK V, Audi 3.0TDi and a couple of 5 series, got to say that the Freelander is my favourite. Just treat myself to some 19" LR shadow wheels. cheers Bibs

Lithuania 2015 Freelander 2 2.0T HSE Lux Auto Havana

Hello everyone,
I've already posted but thought I should say hello here and wish everyone a very happy New Year.
I live in Lithuania but have a RHD Freelander 2 SE TD4 which I bought mainly for use in the UK. It's an 07 "orangy" colour which I bought during the summer (that's not orangy that's Tambora Flame says the LR dealer! Embarassed ).
I bought it with 6000miles on the clock and service history. It's got sat nav. dual sunroof, privacy glass and a very good sound system. I do like the independent control for the rear passengers which keeps the little one quiet.
I've just driven 1300 miles back home in two days and having done the trip many times I have to say it's one of the most comfortable rides I've had. Much better than an X3 I've borrowed.
Overall I'm very pleased, just disappointed that I cannot retro fit the xenon lamp units (subject of my thread) so I'll put Philips X-treme bulbs in for a bit more light.
The lights are my only disappointment. Used the sat nav as much as I could and it works fine (as far as the Polish border then nothing). I've already had the heater booster recall done and a -10c start was no problem, except Morrisons winter screen wash, even used undiluted, is rubbish.
I'm sure I'll have more questions as time goes on but in the meantime I'm enjoying reading up on the car.
Regards,
Tom
