Looks nice! Having just been through this (same company, different site), it turns out I missed a slipping clutch when I test-drove it. . Yours has no tow-hitch, so that is good! The slipping clutch is difficult to find on a short test drive and was only obvious to me once I was confident of the vehicle and using it more fully.

The slip to look for seems to show first in higher gears, accelerating uphill. I can now reliably repeat it - 6th gear at 50mph uphill, accelerate firmly and the revs go to about 2,300 until the speed builds up and then drop to 2,000 as the drive picks up completely. Cruising at 70 in 6th is exactly 2,000 rpm in mine, so the revs shouldn’t be able to sit at 2,300 as it passes through 65mph! Others on here suggest that the final demise of the clutch is still some way off, but it would be better not to be facing this yet! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Recently purchased a 2008 model and am absolutely delighted with it. Has already came in very handy during the recent snow up here in Aberdeenshire.

First thing I did when I bought it was to remap it and install an EGR blanking plate. Plenty more mods planned for the future thanks to this site.

Hi all, I've just made my first post so feel I should now introduce myself.
Bought my MY09 XS two years ago and have been lurking on the site for 18 months during which time I have sucked the forum dry of all useful information!

Done a few cosmetic/useful mods in that time, the only out of the usual one that some of you guys might be interested in was when I fitted a dashcam, using a small board available on fleabay, that turns a 12v dc supply into a usb supply socket, which I fed from the 'rear view mirror dip' feed. (no visible wires)

As a matter of caution I recently changed/upgraded the battery and have put wranglers on all four corners.

Only trouble that I have had is the 'reduced traction' warning but it disappeared after a month so I think a Haldex service could be due.

Just purchased a 2010 freelancer 2 sd4 vs auto in black 42000 miles..
Had one 3 years ago but sold it as wife not happy with it as it was a manual so sold it and bought a td5 auto but this is16 years old so wanted something newer and cheaper to run hopefully.
