Osram Night Breaker vs Philips X-treme Power Xenon bulbs

Having searched the forums I see some of the members have fitted Osram Night Breaker or Philips X-treme Power H7 Xenon bulbs but there seems to be little feedback and I wondered how happy you have been with them and whether they made a big difference and indeed if you have had any problems. Is there much difference between the two brands, also the blue vision W5W seems a popular replacement for the side lights, again any thoughts, also those who have replaced the H7's did you do main and dipped beams?
Many thanks for looking and thanks in advance for your help
Chris

Auto express recently did a bulb test (in Philips's own light testing tunnel I might add) and the philips X-treme's won (I guess Philips would not have loaned them the testing tunnel if they hadn't been sure of that result). The Osrams where just about as good, very little difference.
Auto express did add that unless you get your headlights re-aligned to suit the new bulbs you may be wasting your time/money.

I recently fitted the X-tremes to my dipped beams but havn't really done enough night driving yet to give a balanced review, although Mrs G did ask me what I had done to the lights as they had gone really bright, so that in itself is a good review Thumbs Up

Mine are not xenon type bulbs just the 90% extra type. I think the xenon types just add a blue colour to the light.

Bulb replacing is never going to come close to the light outputs of proper xenon units but for £20 ish Its a good improvement over the originals. Will I do the main beams too? ..... undecided yet Confused

I might add the Auto Express test was on H4 bulbs not the H7 ones needed for Fl2's

Denmark 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Stornoway Grey

I bought the Philips H7's for the dipped (normal driving) headlights - and after only 2 or 3 months one of them failed. After another month the 2nd Philips failed.

So, I'm back using the original headlight bulbs Thumbs Up

It was a waste of time & money for me Big Cry

I've had Halfrauds Super Brilliance fitted for about a year, they are quoted as + 50%, they are noticably brighter than the standard bulb. However one has just failed (so re-fitted one of the originals for now).

Halfrauds now have Extreme Brillaince (which are + 90%) so may give them a try.

Halfrauds seem to have a permenant buy one get one free offer on headlamp bulbs, the +50's are £19.95 pair and the +90's are £23.95 pair.

Can't see them (no pun intended!) being too much different to the Osram/Philips, probably made by one of them anyway ! Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!

I just bit the bullet and fitted Philips H7's to both dipped and main.
Having driven rural Angus and Aberdeenshire in 4 other different cars using halogens these are the best. Brilliance is improved and coverage seems braoder. Been fitted since February 08 and no failure. 07 RRS Java Black

Just ready the review as posted Smile

I may get the the xtremeblue or the xenon plus then instead

Ring, maybe the cheaper option, but i don't pay anything near the RRP,

Take the last things i got from there, glass light shades, sold at B&Q for £12.99 each, I got four sets for £5.00 as i only pay the cost to produce them plus 10%

I presume all the lights are H7's main, dipped and fogs? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
