Maybe he just thinks you are too grumpy to feel sorry for?

This might cheer you up. Why are scandanavian women so beautiful? A: Because the viking used to steal all the good looking women on their raiding partys, If you want further proof come to Britain and see what they left behind.

Well, since having the fuse removed I've suffered a "no start, trip reset" which I thought this problem with the PTC heater was linked to Question

Also, when the car did start on the second attempt the radio came on then switched off all by itself Shocked

And now my gear lever has started to creek when going from neutral to 1st gear Evil or Very Mad

guys I need your help here. The dealer here claims that my car is not fitted with the ptc but they have to remove the fuse!!!! So why the hell would they want to remove it of the ptc is not there. How can I verify if this curcuit is installed on my car. I even called uk support and they dont know if the car is fitted with this or not

it does sound strange removing what sounds to be a dormant fuse Rolling Eyes

The only way i can think to see if you have a PTC is time how long it takes for warm air to come through, with and without the fuse in place.

Obviously the down side is the HOT air you have in sunny cyprus Whistle

Another way maybe to see if any wires lead from the fuse box at fuse 16 or not as the case maybe, but again they may run the wires as its easier than excluding them.

Does it make a difference, if you haven't got it you haven't, if you have its getting fixed for free, and I'm sure you'll not need to have a fast heating cabin over there like we do Laughing Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

vafree2 - I dont think you have much to worry about if the fuse is there or not. Cyprus always sound sunny and warm to me Thumbs Up
My FL2 gets its first service next week and I guess they will pull my fuse at the same time Sad which means the heated seats will have to stay on a lot longer Laughing 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

thanks guys for the response. I agree with you that the ptc is not going to make much difference for me in Cyprus, but I want a straight answer from them. I suspect that they are saying that there is a fuse but no ptc, cause they don't want to go into the trouble of replacing it. As a customer I have the right to decide if I want the defective part replaced or not, Besides I paid for the car ( and it is not the cheapest SUV!). If you think about it, today is the ptc, tomorrow it might be something else ( I have a very but experience with the freelander 1999 version). I only know about this recall from this site, not from the dealer.

I think if you have the PTC, the dealer would normally wait for the recall notice to be issued, than just doing the recall job on the off chance, and the possibility of not been reimbursed from Land Rover Warranty, a 10 minute job would still be claimed back Rolling Eyes .

If i was in your position i would have a beer and be wearing factor 45 on the beach Whistle wait for the recall notice, if it is a worldwide recall on all FL2's you get yours eventually.

Without a notice, you'll have no problems with any insurance claims IF the worst happens.

I don't think they can't be bothered, they just need the paperwork to be in place Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
