We were thinking of getting a newer FL2 as ours has 175k, and I am racking up 30k a year - forget that now.

Mine has done 106k and this fault is starting to irritate me. Could really do with an idea of what is causing the problem. Weirdly, it will start and run erratically, missing etc. I can then drive it down the street, stop and it will idle as if nothing is wrong. 100yds later its all lumpy and erratic again |

I have changed the air filter and disconnected the MAF when the car is at idle with no change. I have also filled up with premium fuel, added injector cleaner and driven close to 300 miles in one trip, mostly at motorway speed.

So far it has fixed itself. It is idling smoothly. There is an occasional minor 'miss' and a sort of squeal when accelerating but nothing compared to previously. As it doesn't have symptoms, the garage I took it to said they can't fix whatever happened! Now joined the RAC |

Don't forget that blanking off the egr on a 2011 facelift model with DPF will fail the MOT if you leave it like that. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Yes, you need the blanking plate with a small hole in it.

I've just purchased a 2014 Freelander SE and it's having this issue also, as did my 2011 XS.
