Put the winters on now that it is going to get cold and had a new oxygen sensor fitted. Bring on the snow! |

The Freelander 2 may not have a low range gearbox or locking differentials but my 2013 FL2 successfully pulled a new Range Rover out of the mud on Saturday after a Nissan 4X4 had tried unsuccessfully. Both the RR and FL2 were on the same tyres (Scorpion verde all season M&S). I agree that for some things, low range, etc is needed but was very pleased with the way the FL2 negotiated the mud and pulled the RR out. |

Took son's FL2 to the dealers to have the wipers and washers sorted plus a few other things like loss of power etc. Came away with a new Disco sport auto courtesy car which was an interesting experience, nice to drive and the auto headlight dipping was good but overall I think it's vastly overpriced and impractical (7 seats?). Was stuck in traffic outside a VW dealer and saw a Tiguan and found myself thinking "that's a nice size for what I want". Don't know much about it but it struck me that this is the sector that is sadly lacking in the LR range at present. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
