Hi everyone. Bought a 2009 (59) Freelander2 HSE-TD4e 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately it has just thrown a fault code so I joined up in the hope of finding a solution.

If the cars on an incline you dont need to apply the handbrake for a quick stop and go, just a press of the brake pedal and the system will hold the car for about 2 seconds, enough time to bring up the clutch and move off. I find you can hear the handbrake come on when you apply it and of course the warning light on the dash doesnt light up until its on so you know it is. Takes a bit of getting used to, Im not sure its a better thing than the manual handbrake lever, but it does seem to work and hold better on a good incline?? If the handbrake is applied it releases itself automatically as you move off, you dont need to press the button which is a good point too |
