United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Santorini Black
Hi from a Newbie !

Hello to all
My wife Alison and I recently purchased a 60 reg Santorini Black SD4 XS and are really enjoying the experience so far. We live in rural West Lancashire with our son Tyler and two dogs, Sonny and Hudson. All three are loving the new 'ride' also !
We searched long and hard for a good condition, well equipped example with reasonable mileage in our price range and eventually found one....in Glasgow !
Since bringing it home two weeks ago we have been enjoying adding some extras and a bit of 'bling' including a dog guard and boot liner, chrome door handles/wing mirror cases and Evoque 19" alloys. The alloys and chrome bits look great against the black paintwork. I also removed the roof rails and refinished them with Silver Plastidip spray which looks much smarter and ties in with the chrome nicely. Photos to follow soon !
I have been enjoying checking this forum out over the last couple of months and it certainly informed and helped me in choosing our car. Great info and tips !
Hope I can make some useful comments and contributions in the future.
Regards, Si

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Indus Silver

Hi Everyone
Been reading posts for some time since getting my 2011 freely! Great forum and info on here that have been really useful!
Done 25k in her now and still loving the car haha! Not like my disco 2 but so much more refined Smile
Thanks in advance for what I've read already and for any advice going forward (it's still a Landy after all with those 'characteristics' we all know and love Laughing )
Cheers,
Nath

Hello

Hi everyone. Bought a 2009 (59) Freelander2 HSE-TD4e 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately it has just thrown a fault code so I joined up in the hope of finding a solution.
Cheers. HGM.

Austria 2008 Freelander 2 i6 HSE Auto Zermatt Silver

Hello,

I just registered to this forum because I'm interested in purchasing a 2008 LR2 as a secondary car here in Austria.
The model I'm interested in is a TD4 SE model with a lot of accessories and automatic transmission. I hope to find a lot of useful information here.

When I purchase the car I will become a regular visitor to this site. Surprised

Greetings from Vienna,
Martin

England 2015 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Loire Blue

Recently got a 14 plate Freelander 2 TD4 SE Tech after having a couple of Discovery II's before.

1st Y reg Disco II didn't like hitting a small tree sideways on. Sad I don't like black ice!

2nd 04 Disco II was becoming a money pit at 140,000 miles, I guesstimated it would need the best part £2,000 just to keep it on the road for another year. Sorry, it had to go.

Have had the Freelander a couple of months and have just about got used to the electronic parking brake but not sussed out when it is (or isn't) going to hold the brakes on for a hill start. Not quite such a comfortable mobile arm chair as the Disco's but it's nice to have enough grunt to join a motorway without running out of slip road. Smile

Cheers
Dave.

Circumstances have recently changed and the disco3 will shortly be up for sale Big Cry I like the freelander2 and have joined the site ready for the problable upcoming purchase Whistle I have been a member of disco3.com for a few years and found it an invaluable resource for disco3 ownership Thumbs Up

If the cars on an incline you dont need to apply the handbrake for a quick stop and go, just a press of the brake pedal and the system will hold the car for about 2 seconds, enough time to bring up the clutch and move off.
I find you can hear the handbrake come on when you apply it and of course the warning light on the dash doesnt light up until its on so you know it is.
Takes a bit of getting used to, Im not sure its a better thing than the manual handbrake lever, but it does seem to work and hold better on a good incline??
If the handbrake is applied it releases itself automatically as you move off, you dont need to press the button which is a good point too
