I know there have been references to this in a number of threads, but I can't seem to find a definitive update on a solution...

Not much further on I'm afraid. It continues to be an occasional occurrence, it has even happened on the dealers premises when I picked the car up after towbar fitment (and on that occasion the the non resettable mileage read out actually lost a mile - no one was available to check the car over when that happened) it has since happened one further time so that's twice in the last two weeks! My attitude towards this fault (driven back lack of customer service) is that as long as the car is running I don't want it to go back until they have a firm answer as to what the problem is. It's such a bloody performance getting a loan car from them that it really becomes an obstacle to getting the job done properly. On the subject of loan car, the dealer will offer a loan car for a job that can be done in a day (24hrs) but beyond that they put you in a hire car (provided by Enterprise Rental) which involves me filling out all the bloody paperwork, me paying the £50 security deposit. and me taking the risk on the cost of damage while using the hire car. Like I say all cleverly designed to put you right of parting with the car...... |

I agree, I think I've noticed that when it does happen its when I've "been a bit quick' about inserting key and straight onto the start button; I'm trying very hard to slow down this routine, when I've experienced the problem its usually when I've forgotten to go slow ..... |

You need a check list like D3 and RRS owner use to avoid lots of bongs and a failed start................ enter car, insert key, put on seatbelt, wait for pre-departure check bong to sound, start engine! How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Sorry to say this guys, but I had my first reset couple of days ago. No other problems till now (1500km on clock). The reset took place just after I started the engine. Heard a beep, look to see what's wrong and there it was. Trip computer and trip counter reset, nothing else (hopefully).

I've read all these threads so I thought I'll be really careful when I get my motor... Well just 6 days into ownership and 150 miles I had the non-start trip reset thing! I thought I would add this note to the forum for completeness to highlight the fact that it appears to be a recurrent problem with the vehicle at the moment. Other than that its a wonderful bit of kit - must go now and clean those wheels again. |
