Problem occurs on all vehicles upto and inc. vin no.63923. Sorry last 5 digits of vin, I hav'nt looked at rest of stream. Vin no. visible from outside of the car through cut out in bottom left of the windscreen obscuration band below parked w/screen wiper blade, on embossed ally plate. That also tells you how many vehicles have been produced since job 1. ref my previous posts 30 mins software update.

When leaving work tonight the car suffered it's first non-start and trip reset . The car has had a software update 3 weeks ago so I didn't expect this to happen.

It is a fully keyless system, as such, you only have to use the 'key' if the batteries is completeley flat or the remotes stop working to gain access into the car. If you didn't have this key, how would you get in the car if the above senario happened Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

I don't think this problem has anything to do with the key \ fob because the fob just sends a signal to the computer telling it to start the engine.

No its not, you still have to insert the dongle thing in the dash, and get it the right way round too. Then, if the dongle isn't spat out again, push the start button. Why can't I just leave the dongle thing in my pocket like other keyless systems? As it is, its a PITA. OK, you can get used to it - I like the push button start/stop, but the in the dash dongle thing is not thought out. - Mike |

To transfer from using a key in the old FL1, RRS, FFRR i do think they have thought it out and opted for the key fob system. Also, If they hadn't thought it out they would not have made the fob waterproof. IMO the fob is better than a keyless entry system and better in the pocket as a key as they just scratch the mobile Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

Tell them to provide a like for like replacement, as this car is required and you find it unacceptable Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |
