Have you reset the windows since removing the battery, i know this should only effect the one touch open and close function but its a landrover so anything is possible

Open the window fully then release the button wait a second and press the button down again and hold down for a few seconds and you will hear a faint click, then fully close the window release the button for a second then hold it up for a few seconds again you should hear a click. you will know if its worked as the one touch function will work.
Repeat for each window.

thanks, but that has tripped my memory,1 touch function still works, used it tonight, just this bloody 'close all windows if you hold lock button after doors have locked and mirrors retracted' function, beginning to think I will diss' battery again and see if it resets,Alex

isn't this a case of press and hold the unlock and the lock button on the fob simultaneously or is my memory failing?

to reset or use ? up till now if I got out of car and left windows open (say on a hot day while parked in my drive ) I could lock car and shut windows all round by just holding down 'lock' button on fob, alex

Pressing and holding lock and unlock button simultaneously changes unlocking from two stage unlocking to easy entry.

two stage unlocking - first unlock opens drivers door, second opens remaining doors
easy entry - first unlock unlocks all doors.

Window reset requires procedure as posted of opening and closing the windows.
