Just picked up my MY13 auto GS with 6,600 miles, done a journey home of some 350+ miles and averaged 43MPG, all roads, A/B and motorway and gave a bit of hammer |

It's always an interesting post. Some of the early posts indicate much lower mpg figure, so there is a definite improvement over the years!

Well I have had my Freelander 2 sport sd4 for a few weeks now and done a fair bit of driving in that time and I am averaging about 38-40 MPG I have zero'd the trip whilst on a steady run down the A9 sitting at 60-65MPH and the average on the trip remained at 52MPG for some time. I was gobsmacked with that, but as soon as you throw in some town driving its back to 40. Still I can't complain with the MPG at all. The car is going to get terra cleaned in a month I think so will report back if there is any difference, apparently I should see a few MPG of an improvement. Regards

I've just done 1,700 km from Brittany to Belgium and back towing a 1,425 kg 4 berth caravan almost all the way on cruise set to 95kph (59 mph) with an overall fuel consumption of 12.6 l/100km (22.5 mpg) which I thought very good.

A bit counter-instinctive but I've abandoned my adherence to selecting the highest gear possible and gone for a method of 1500 rpm.
