4500 miles on these so far and have been very very good, the level of grip is awesome on all but ice, where they do slide about as expected, although admittedly they were provoked into doing so.

As per usual, simple ideas are always the best. Shame Conti summer tyres don't incorporate this tread depth remaining idea, maybe with a BBQ instead of a snowflake, second thoughts, an umbrella probably more apt... General Tire (owned by Continental) have a very similar thing in the tread to let uses know when you need replacement tyres. Only any good if you look though, not many do.

If we had any snow I might think about changing but up to now we have only had about 1mm last week and that lasted for all of an hour.
