The wet weather rating was a deciding factor for me, along with personal recommends from two forum members for the Nokian.

From what I understand, nokian invented winter tyres! So glad I ordered them now! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come......... |

I had to replace the original Continentals? M+S tyres this year and have gone with Nokian Hakkapeliita R2s.

Yes illegal to use studs here, fascinating noise they make on metalled roads though, very peculiar.

Not so sure on that, if the weather was bad enough, completely covered in snow, no Tarmac visible, the law states that if you are causing damage to the road surface, if it's covered in snow you are not?

Have used winter tyres at work on Disco and Volvo T5 (trial). Good in rain and snow. Not so good when they warm up, or the going gets quick, when they become slippy/sloppy, and wear out quick. The snows coming... WALLO.....

A thumbs up for winter tyres for me. I run kumhos and have been very happy with them for the last couple years. |
