As a recently joined member of the biking community I think it's very unfortunate that people feel the need to push their bikes - not beyond the capability of the bike but rather beyond the capability of the rider!!!!

It's all down to complete idiots like him that the powers-that-be have put a blanket 50mph speed limit on the Cat, backed up by unmarked plod vehicles and helicopters.

I suppose you can't expect muppets to read the clear markings on the road saying SLOW and the solid white lines when you're on the wrong side of the road. Ban for life I reckon. |

Very easy to lose the front end of a bike, this instance definitely due to rider error and although he submitted the recording with good intention to highlight the dangers of the road he really has highlighted his own incompetence as a master and commander in the saddle. Biking is an enjoyable past time made tough enough by the government without idiots paving the way for new regulations being proposed and set. |

As a motorcyclist for over 45yrs and only health reasons forcing my retirement from the saddle five years ago I was rather hoping that this idiotic incident did not appear in these columns as it adds fuel to the generally held view that "bikers" are an irresponsible tribe of road users. Overall they are not - but as in every fraternity it's the minority that paints the broadly held view.

I've been riding motorbikes since 1960 and wouldn't complain if that idiot never got his licence back.
