United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Orkney Grey

Just a question - why does everybody put 'MY' in front of the year ? I assume it stands for Manufacturing Year ? Thanks

Yes, model year. It's because the model year is not necessarily the same as the year of registration. E.g. a 59-reg car may be a MY10 - it just makes it clearer exactly what is meant.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 i6 HSE Auto Zermatt Silver

Evening all

New member here, just taken delivery of a 2007 i6 HSE and so far I'm very happy. I've already learned a lot after a couple of hours casual browsing. Hopefully there's a post on here somewhere that explains how to achieve 45MPG Laughing

Adam.

Adam,
45 mpg is certainly achievable with manual box and diesel engine, 'fraid no chance with the petrol i6.
I'd love to drive one though Thumbs Up Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Unfortunately my name is not Adam BP-Esso McShell. I only do about 5k miles a year and have acquired my FL2 after 11 torrid months of Jaguar X-Type diesel dreariness. I mostly make short journeys (4 miles) up and down big Pennine hills. I wanted petrol, I wanted 4WD and I wanted automatic... and so far (7 days later) I'm very happy with my choice. It shifts (for a tank), is very comfortable and ridiculously well specced.

I'm contemplating a bit of colour-coding (depending on potential issues with the parking sensors) and am wondering about upgrading the sub in the back (although the factory audio system to very impressive).

So there we are. Thank you for the welcome Smile

Welcome. Smile Colour coding would make a huge difference and make the car look so much better. Even if you just get some mirror caps.

Thanks, no idea really, my disco was an hse, I don't think I can stretch to that if I go down the dealer route. I have a Tom Tom so don't want/need sat nav, daughter is now able to eat without dropping much so leather not one of life's essentials !
Low mileage and as new, and frugal as possible. Embarassed
