still not starting and mechanic reports back that sensor in correct position/distance in relation to cam sproket

Easy start is like crack to a druggie all it will want is more and more untill its hooked.Years ago when I was a nipper one of the old tractors on the farm would not start untill it had its fix of easy start even when it was warm. |

...it is not unusual that before the HP pump gives up it sends chips into the fuel lines and these chips might block or damage the injectors...fingers crossed this is not your issue |

I would recommend a quick diagnostic plug in to read fuel rail pressure to see if rail pressure is building at cranking to required level. Sounds like it has a compression issue or cam/ crank correlation issue.
