The FC is for FL2's with a DPF like mine and is semi-synthetic. There is also a FD spec full synthetic but is not compatible with the DPF, besides it costing more. |

Maybe so,I havent come across it.FD semi synthetic has the same properties as FC but with greater detergency.Didnt think that would help block the DPF.Hence the query. |

Hi I have a 5 month old SE SD4 Auto. Does anybody know whether the fuel supplied in Australia, (I use Caltex Vortex Diesel) is a similar quality to that of Europe. I am thinking of adding 2 stroke, I am pretty sure I don't have a DPF and I notice the discussion re mineral and semi synthetic. If I used semi synthetic without a DPF would this cause a problem? |

The FD standard is for very high reving 2 stroke engines and contains additives for that purpose. The poster who put up the warning to say do not use it believes it will harm the DPF. Clearly it's your choice whether or not you decide to use it. |
