Pretty sure that the pump owner would be hauled over the coals if it was that badly calibrated! |

Quite clever really, it takes after the owner, he knows how much the food will cost but not if its going to be any good or not. |

Everything is much thicker in Yorkshire I use 80% V Power, only because its not always available, the other 20% is 95% Shell ordinary 5% BP if I have too, the accountants will love the %'s V power is quieter and more powerful, the differnece in price is £1.47 v £1.39 at present here seriously though its £5 difference for a tankful, well worth it, I laughed this morning when I was in Norton Canes services taking a leak, two guys at the Costa coffee moaning about prices of fuel, they are stood in a queue for watered down coffee at nearly £3 for a small cup FFS. |

The van I have at work has has a bad hesitancy when the rev counter is loitering around 2000 revs, it has been back in twice, each time they tell me there've updated the software as its common on these vans apparently, had to buy V Power this week as the standard Shell was out, a marked improvement and the hesitancy has gone, now on the second tankful.

It's at my local shell garage, or was last time I filled up 350 miles ago, I'll see tomorrow when I fill up again |

It's on the pump on the Fuelsave Sticker, wondered if it is due to a shortage of additives since the demise of Total. Though it may be just the old Total sites having the problem. |

Seems hard to believe that the fuel computer can do all these clever things, like differentiate between qualities of fuel, when it makes such a poor guess of what the actual usage is |

If the same volume of fuel was going in on each fill you'd have to be getting around 25% better mileage from the BP fuel to achieve these figures. That is clearly not happening, so the explanation has to be that there's less fuel going in when you fill up at Morrisons. Why? Almost certainly frothing/foaming of the fuel as it goes in. Raw diesel foams quite a lot, and additives are used to control it. It's seems clear that the BP fuel has more/better anti-foaming additives. The pump will click off when the foam starts reaching the filler - it doesn't have to be liquid diesel. If you want to test this, try filling up at Morrisons letting the fuel flow in slowly, and continuing the delivery through several click-offs. You should find you can get quite a lot more fuel in after the first click off. |

Wiggy, it has been done on here a few times, branded fuel will perform better the Supermarket fuel, the VPower and the BP equivilent always gives me another 2 to 3 better mpg along with a smoother and more responsive performance. |
