Have you tried it though? No stress, no lane changing - just slot in with the trucks and watch the mpg creep up for a bonus. Used to do it a lot in the Disco. Somehow less attractive in the FR2 though.

I would rather poke my self in the eyes with rusty nails than drive that slow! And I still don't care about mpg or I would not of bought a freelander 2! Driving is not stressful, it's an adventure!

Yep, the relaxing life. Just can't be bothered with the rushing around anymore, and lets be honest, why waste the fuel.

+1 on what wizking said I have a R111 for when I want to "rush around".

To be honest, the price of fuel aside, speeding is now a mug's game. The chances of getting caught are high and with insurance companies making noises about upping premiums for 3 points the cost gets higher. Having done some long journeys lately at less than the limit I find I get there just as fast as if I was in frantic mode. John

What's the problem with driving at that speed , not all of us a idiots behind the wheel and the loss of an ex work colleague as a result of an RTA over the weekend, mid 30's, 2 kids with the youngest barely 12 months old kinda hammers home the reality that life is a bit more precious than we might think it is. ______________________

Just completed my first tankfull on new SD4.

497 milies 61.63 litres brim to brim. 39.5 mpg indicated by trip computer, 36.7mpg in real life. I make that 7% optomistic.
My previous D3 averaged 8% optomistic over the 45000 miles i did in it.

Good to see that LR are so consistent  Now: 2012 FL2 SD4 XS Orkney Grey
