France 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Zermatt Silver

Going in tomorrow to a Brit Land Rover specialist near Limoges (sw France) for the cambelt change, plus tensioners and aux belt, plus water pump change, plus oil changes to gearbox, rear diff and transfer box - all recommended at 150k. Close to 1,000 euros in total. Still cheaper than the LR dealer that wanted 1,300 and they are going to do the work in the LR dealership in Limoges!

Now up to 160k miles.

Cambelt/water pump change all went OK (see earlier posts in this thread). Feels odd being 930 euros poorer and having a car that looks and drives just the same as before!

Oh yes, I did have to stop on the way home and top up the coolant - seems like they hadn't bled the system properly as it's been alright since then.

125,000 miles, just had its 120k service at Team Valley LR and it needed a new Alternator, so that pushed the price up by £300
All it's had over the last 3 years is a clutch, still runs like new, lots of stone chips and a few dents on the back door from when it was broken into by putting a brick through the back window.
I've had a price from Lakeland LR for a S Commercial (their own conversion) of £21500, but have yet to have mine valued. Guess I'll keep it until its done 150,000

Oh ok, I sure mine is on its last legs. What did you pay for a new one if you don't mind me asking?

Not sure how much, (company car) but as said earlier it added £300 inc labour and VAT to bill. £275 for 120k service + £30 for new wipers, £15 for new high level brake light and £17 for tailgate lock (water ingrese) would only open with fob!

I'm up to 120k on my 56 GS, replaced rear main oil seal and the handbrake has seized a couple of times but apart from that no problems. Saying that though, I've never had more than 27mpg from it- had it since 80,000 miles but mainly city driving so could be that? Zermatt '57 Silver Freelander 2 GS -

105,000 miles coming up very shortly and, like others, it is running better than ever and showing 39.5 mpg on the trip over the past 20,000 miles or so. Only major issue recently was a new rear diff, covered by the extended warranty.
Am I doing the right thing trading it next month??? Too late - deposit paid on a new 110.

Well either it packed up or he just got fed up with looking at the same one?
