Looking at this recently posted pic it looks like it may hold the intake pipe in place?

Taznastic, thanks for the picture but a bit of a drastic action just to get a photo. Have to say I have had this symton and tightening the bolt cured it although I too had the sensation that the thread was stripping.
When the weather improves (if ever) my man is going to remove the bolt with a magnetised socket and inspect the thread with and endoscope and the thought is to replace it with a socking big self tapper.

Yes rattle definatly gone. made me notice another on drivers side behind dash which has gone after adjusting steering coloum. I'm sure i'll notice another soon.

I'll do mine again when I get chance with a bit of threadlok, hopefully it wont come loose again then.

Mine also appears to have gone, the bolt was loose! No signs of the noise now. Thanks! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

This does seem to be a solution to one of the worse rattles. However I'm just wondering how tight that bolt should actually be? I gave mine a few turns yesterday, and it did, as others have already said, feel as if the thread was stripping! Will it eventually become tight, or will the thread strip?

Hmmm, I can't seem to get the indicator fitting off. Do I just pull it, or is there another trick to it?

To find out how durable the captive nut is, ask your dealer if LR005557 is plastic or metal.

I think I read on here that you push the side repeater to the front of the car and the rear edge can then be released and pulled out. Thumbs Up

Had a root around under the dash this afternoon, and I think the other end of that bolt is accessible from inside the car. If it is then a longer bolt + a washer and nut from the inside should keep it in place for ever.

Let us know if you do find it to be possible! Just had a quick look and I couldn't see it. Would be good as I think it may come back! cheers! Thumbs Up

My wifes FL2 has this rattle, you access this loom from the outside of the car?

yeah just take out the indicator and you should see the bolt !

I used a box spanner as I didn't want to drop anything inside!

Mine seems to have developed this rattle too! I can't seem to get the indicator out to have a proper look. How do you remove the indicator? Hi, Just wanted to say that this solution worked for me. I have had a vibration noise that seemed to be coming from the area of the speaker grill on the passenger side of the dashboard. It would come and go for no reason and was difficult to trace.
Having read this blog I went and checked my FL and was please to feel a loose washer behind the indicator. Tightened up the bolt and all is now fixed.

Well done guys. Norman

Just been searching around i have a rattle/vibration buzzing between 1300 and 1600 revs from the glove box area, cant see anything obvious and it happens when the glove box is full or empty. When you say the indicator do you mean the side repeater. Did anyone take any photos to help Razz ?
