others have said they required to have a suspension mounting "bung" (rubber bit on top? I think thats the word for them) replaced with a larger "bung"

I believe they are available. However you'd better confirm it is the suspension before you go for those rubber mounts. I recently found that I could hear a rattle from the rear quarter and discovered it is the rear door misaligned. |

i had the same issue on the right front and it was diagnosed as a sway bar bolt. Part on order now...i will let you know if that fixes the problem. |

My car is in the shop right now for the 7500 mile service + software update. I also have the same noise problem, they are checking into it...

Well my FL2 paid a visit to the dealer yesterday to have a look (or rather a listen) to my clunk, as well as a buzzing in the dashboard.

It's a sad day. The clunk/knocking is back. It lasted a few days after the dealer did the suspension fix but has returned.

You did not say what had caused the buzzing noise around the dash area.

Sadly, they didn't tell me how they found it. I guess they dropped the glove box out and tightened all the cable bundles up. |

Getting the glove box out is fairly easy anyway.

Does this mean you only hear it when there's a passenger on board ? If yes, I assume that the weight of the passenger releases the suspension of the left back wheel a bit. Maybe this will help you further. |

My rear suspension (I'm assuming) gets clunkier going over bumps downhill. It's not exactly silent on the flat/uphill but it does seem worse downhill. It's not a metallic clank like exhaust hitting floorpan, more clunk like rubber bush wear. I think it will need to go in to be looked at, but I'm expecting that they'll say everything seems to be in order.

The only time my Freelander 2 has the clunk is when I back out of my driveway. When I get to the point where my concrete driveway hits the tarmac of the road (there is a nice incline that my Mustang always drags on unless I take it at an angle) it makes the clunk. I carry a gun because I can't carry a cop.
