Got my renewal from LR ins in last few days.
Compared with their online quote system which was cheaper Evil or Very Mad
Did the usual Confused/Aviva/Tesco online quotes which were cheaper like for like.

So rang LR ins forearmed, they matched the Tesco quote saving me just over £80 having checked with the underwriters Rolling Eyes

that's very cheap, probably does not include the various extras like legal protection, etc ?

Personally agree with the last post re your Hastings quote as I had a similar one from them on Confused, but does it include courtesy car, windscreen cover, child car seats etc etc.

Regardless of this a work colleague had a nightmare with them getting his car repaired after a no fault accident (they were his insurer). Long story, suffice to say once they have your money, and you have a piece of paper with 'Insurance certificate' on it, their customer service seems to vanish.

They always try it on ... and are mostly successfully because (as has been said) you need the certificate and they need the money.

I recently noticed my policy did not cover me travelling to and from work. I called them and asked what was going on? Apparently, this was due to me not checking the right box on-line. He would get it changed at no cost (the difference was around £3!) Then the call got dropped and I couldn't remember his name so never got back to the same person. I was then told I would have to pay for the change + an administrative charge of £22. I blew my top I'm afraid but there was no avoiding it - it was my mistake.

After all this kerfuffle they wanted the old certificate returned to them. I said I could but it would cost them £22. They asked me why and I had great delight in informing them it was my administrative charge! Laughing Needless to say they haven't paid and I have the old certificate - not that it means much but I felt good saying it! Freelander 1 TD4 HSE - gone, 2 weeks after the Cat.Converter!

£245 for 2007 XS auto with Admiral on multicar policy. £500 excess in total. Had to haggle at renewal but they dropped considerably to retain my business. Age 54 - self & wife - full NCD - West Sussex.
I hate call centres, particulalrly overseas as I have a hearing loss which can make it hard if they have a strong accent. Evil or Very Mad My experience with their evening call centre based in Nova Scotia was very good- a very polite, unhurried and helpful chap with perfect diction. Thumbs Up - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.

I have found admiral the best for insurance lately, especially if you have more than one car, it will prob. be cheaper to cancel your old insurance and go with them. also cheap for youngsters on your insurance.

I can only assume that living in the town centre has left me paying through the nose for my Insurance. Mid 40’s full NCD clean licence fully comp unprotected me only, £582.58--- Shocked --- £350 excess £65 windscreen excess, done via Adrian Flux. (Hastings direct were £20 cheaper but the policy wasn’t as good.)
The irony here is that my last car was a group 20 175 MPH sports car and I got that insured, protected, track days’nall for £550. Whats that all about....

Just renewed with LRI, from the above quoted prices they got it down to £527.18 (with £250 excess) but after a long 6-10minute wait to get through to renewels yesterday, I thought it might be a good idea to ask if the rates had changed over the weekend

and got it for £507.18 with £250 Laughing

much better than the insurance item on Look North last night with the young lass who was quoted £54K for her insurance (after now wasting her money passing her test) and a ex-police driver who couldn't get insured and the chap whos insurance was double that than 1mile down the road.

There was also a few people who had contacted them and one chaps insurance in Leeds City Centre went from £1000 to £55000 at renewel Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Well I had an even more bizarre follow up phone call from LR insurance last week.
During the run through I was asked if I could provide evidence for 15 plus years of NCD.
I had to say “no” because I haven’t kept the paperwork for each of the last 15 years and change it most every year. I could only “prove” 6 + years as that’s what my most recent previous insurer states on their paperwork!
It probably doesn’t make any difference, but I just couldn’t get my point across clearly enough for the teenager on the phone to understand. I shouldn't need to prove it, they can soon probably do a search to find out if I'm a bad risk... If I've lied my insurance is probably null and void anyway...
I’ve always put that figure (15+ years) in the on line forms (last had a claim about 18 years ago) and don’t even know why they allow you to go up to 15 years NCD as I’ve never heard of any company recognising more than 6 or 7, anyone know why they list 15 years NCD?…

AFTER ALL THAT, guess what she said! We don’t insure your postcode, sorry… Evil or Very Mad

First time that's ever happened. Good job I was in to take the call otherwise I wouldn’t have been insured with the 7 day free insurance thingy on pickup! Sorted it myself before I went to collect… 57 HSE AUTO with H.I.D's - Grey with Black leather. (H.S.E. Heightadjustable Seats Extra Sad )
