What about the Amsoil oils ? Does anybody used them ? It seems Amsoil is the best in engineering of the fully synthetic oils.

I'm told that Land Rover take off the boost pipes when changing the oil filter, is that what most of you guys do on here to get better access? Freelander 2 HSE Lux SD4 - Sumatra Black |

If your car does not have a DPF then yes that was the correct oil spec. |

I know early export models had them but don't know what year it started.

If you cut some of the black plastic out above the towing eye it allows the plastic to drop further out of the way and gives better access to the duct and the filter housing. I used a 15mm hole saw and cut a hole above each side of the loop and trimmed it off with a saw blade. Quck fix but makes the job slightly easier.

Drain plug needed a 21mm socket, couldn't see mention of that here, could save someone a trip to the motor factors mid job...

Can't be a mid job problem... No socket, not oil out, so the car still drives.... |

Ha, no, always do the engine oil drain first (unless on something where there's a filler/level plug and it's prudent to at least check that can be undone first!).

From my small experiences on working on the car they do seem to like using the odd sized mm's instead of the evens. |
