MacWallace, I've had the FL2 and Disco attended to at Stratstones in Cupar. They are very polite and quite competant, but their prices are steep, unless you negotiate in advance. I remember doing that with a parking sensor kit. They tried to charge me 250 for labour, when I'd agreed to 100. I got a refund, no problem. Thier valet prior to handing the car back is fantastic! Well worth the 320 mile round trip, rather than my local dealer.

Had a bad experience with my local Stratstone dealer, in the end the service department couldnt remedy a fault I had and suggested I try somewhere else!

However they redeemed theirselves last year when I approached another dealer with regard to the sports grille hanging off. The other dealer firstly asked who was paying for it as it wasnt covered under warranty (which i later found out it was because it was fitted on first reg so gains a full 3 year warranty instead of a 1 year accessory warranty). Went to Stratstone expecting same treatment but was shocked when they took the keys, offered me a coffee and said it would be fixed there and then no cost no questions asked. The only thing I had to do was wait an hour for the glue to dry!

I am presently trying to buy a new frelander 2...Who would have thought it would be so hard to get a price and definate delivery date from them!!! Evil or Very Mad

I dont want to use |Barrets again as im still Peed off with them over the price the gave me in writing for some work then when done they said they made a mistake and charge £100 more!!!...I couldnt be bothered to have a row with them so just paid it and decided after 15 years NOT to use them again!

I have asked three dealers for qoute for my new fl2...but im still waiting.....maybe i should just not buy british and get the bloody mitsubiush!

Nae problem. I only went there to start with because all my family live in St. Andrews, so it's like my local, but then found there actually is one Stratstones that is half decent and very pleasent, surprisingly. Shocked

Ah, I purchased a FL2 from there 2 years ago, if it's the Portabello one your talking. The salesman knew the car was a birthday pressi for SWMBO, yet no 'happy birthday' to her, no flowers, nothing to make it special, yet he wanted the 'outstanding service' bit on the feedback - get a grip.

The dealership may well have been busy, but thats no excuse, overall I felt they didn't value us as a customer. Phone calls not returned, things that needed to be, were not. It was like we should be gratefull they sold us the thing.

Two years on, I wised up, now it down to price, cos wherever I go I know I am goanna get crappy service. Anyway, 3 non returned phone calls later from Portabello to get a change price, which was just plain silly when it did come. So I told the Salesman that last time he'd been less than candid over the price and I wasn't about to make the same mistake again and HE took the huff and didn't want to communicate. I've got a child that gets over things quicker. They really want to grow up. If they are getting negative feedback, then don't blame the customer, blame themselves!

That interesting, I had a problem when it was Rossleigh. I will report back here soon as I have the car booked in for warranty work in april, ie door trim on B piller, reversing sensors, drivers seat going down and also I think the clutch is starting to slip? Very Happy

stratstone cupars workmanship is very good ,not sure about the price of a service as i have a service plan, my car goes in next week for its second service. I had a knocking problem with the car and they were able to fix it without any problems, they didn't make you feel stupid if the car didn't replicate the fault on test drives. Also i noticed that with me being loyal to them they reward me with discounts on accessories etc. Also there tyres are cheaper than kwick fit, but as with most places if you get it cheaper they will match it.

Stratsone Perth - Poor Customer Service

Hi

I own a Freelander 2 which I bought new in 2007. I have two Land Rover dealers I could use both of which are owned by Stratstone. Have used Perth for past three years but on each occasion there has been issues about poor service, late returns and over pricing to name a few.

Should have gone elsewhere really but foolishly gave them the benefit of the doubt until the latest episode in December 2010. In short I will not be back. Either to Stratstone Perth, Stratstone or will now not be buying another LR as a direct result of the poor customer service I have had since day one.

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Sumatra Black

I bought my Freelander Freestyle (56) from Stratstones, Stockton. in a word.. poor.

I went back to buy a FE2 .. they started to con me, with the same trick they tried to hang on me when I bought the Freestyle.

I looked at the salesman and said bye.. turned and walked out.

Drove the 86 miles to Lloyds of Carlisle, a deal was done inside 45 mins .. so far they have looked after me just right.

I will be going back.

We all hate poor customer service, but not buying a Land Rover again is like cutting your nose off to spite your face, No point buying a Censored car just cos an employee of a dealer is bellend Whistle

All the feedback of LPR on here in very good and if I ever buy a new one I'd use them, but still use my local garage which I've used for over 20 years with a dozen different cars Thumbs Up

Howard and his team provide an absolutely fabulous service. This extends through not one sales member but the entire 'job lot'. Superb and cant say a bad work against them.

I'll be travelling another 140 miles to buy from them again in the future and ignoring the local dealers 12 and 45 miles away!!! This should say a lot about them!
