So the new throttle body arrived. swaps over the sensors and fitted it. Tried to start but it was just turning over. Still no start.

Just done a hard reset. 90seconds. reconnected battery, ran a scan, and code still there. Tried to clear, but still there. ....The code is B12CA-15 Start/stop status indicator permanent. |

Not sure if it has live data. I'm going to take off the starter tomorrow, and the cam cover, and check the timing as a starting point. I can find no info on the net about code B12CA-15. I will keep the forum posted about progress and the timing. Fingers crossed that I haven't knackered the blinking thing. |

Relax ive been there and yes it does get frustrating but you'll get there in the end, once you've checked the timing you'll be one step closer to getting it sorted but you really do need better diagnostic tools for live data etc that will tell you if you have fuel rail pressure and CPS signal etc without it you are working blind, over the years I have always purchased relevant diagnostics for whatever vehicle ive owned and its saved me a fortune in repairs, do you know anyone with a decent scan tool that you can borrow. |

It might do live data. Truth is I just don't know. I will start with checking the timing tomorrow. thanks again for all the support. I will report my findings. |

So, it's time to give you a Monday update... So Nodge was right. The timing is out. Now, hands up I may well have caused this by undoing the Crankshaft pulley using my unorthodox method. However, it may have been caused when the auxiliary belt started to shread, and some of that got behind the crank pulley and around the teeth of the crank cog. We shall never know...However it was probably me ! [ ].

Get a trusted garage to look at the valves with a borescope |

In my experience the rockers normally break and hopefully no valve damage will have occurred next step is to remove the plastic breather cover and fuel rail and then the camshaft cover this will give you access to inspect any damage it sounds like a lot but it’s really not that difficult to do |

Timing is out by quite a bit. So I expect a clash happened. |
