Just joined the forum. Have bought a 60 plate TD4 GS in Orkney Grey.

Have had an FL1 (Hippo) TD4 for the last 4 years. We decided to go to the FL2. Only had it couple of days but all seems ok so far.

It is a Land Rover after all so I expect I'll be visiting here a few times over the next few years.

I have joined the forum as I have no doubt I will need members help and maybe, I too might be able to offer insight and advice in the years to come.
With my other half, we have since October 2018 become Land Rover owners with a new Disco Sport as the good car and the FL2 as the workhorse. The 2 cars (actually the DS is a car and the FL2 a truck in comparison) are chalk and cheese; it's hard to believe that they use the same basic floorpan. That said, the FL2 does therefore have character.
I will post up what has been done with it at some point soon.

Looking forward to becoming a regular here.

Have owned my Freelander 2 for 5 years now after buying 2nd hand 2 years old with 30,000km on the clock. It has racked up 130,000km now, never been off-road. Has had a rear diff pinion bearing replaced at 40,000km (warranty), starter motor rebuild at 80,000km, EGR Valve water leak repaired (90,000km), about to do the diff pinion bearing again. Now have a major shudder under acceleration, any gear, between 1400 - 1800RPM. LR Main Dealer says its the rear diff (which I rather doubt). I have pulled the Haldex fuse and the problem remains. Would anyone care to suggest a cause for this issue?

ref changing from D2 TD5 Auto to a FL2 SD4 Auto its like chalk and cheese but depending on what you use the D2 for you wont be disappointed in an SD4

Hi, I have owned my 2012 Freelander 2 since buying it new in Melbourne, Australia. Have been through a few issues - water leak in EGR, incorrect fuel sensors showing that the car had a quarter tank of diesel fuel when it was actually empty (this resulted in fuel injectors needing to be replaced). Recently had the IRD (essentially the center transfer case) replaced.

However, I haven't given up on it yet! I am now setting it up to tow a caravan. The Freelander has been wired with two Anderson Plugs and a 12-pin trailer socket.

The car tows the caravan effortlessly but I have an issue with the LED running lights on the van flickering. The indicators and brake lights work OK. I saw a post which suggested that a resistor wired into the circuit would solve this problem. Anyone have any ideas?

Yes, you will have no problem when you add the adapter harness - about $35 on eBay. The Ford harness for Ranger/Mondeo will do it.
