It's worth doing the wiring, even if all you do is run the supplied cable down to the front lighter socket. You'll soon get tired of having to charge the battery and turn the camera on and off every trip. Then when you really need it the battery will have gone flat and you'll have missed the shot. Battery life obviously varies between models, but it can be as little as a few minutes. Best I've seen claimed is around 1-2 hours (very small sample size!), but as ever such claims must be taken with a pinch of salt!

That's my thinking bish, and had mine for over 2 years now. You will need a good SD card class 10 (32 gig I recommend) and a longer USB lead to run to front power aux. |
