Me too,as a retired police advanced driver nobody expects me to show progress,those days are gone and I certainly wouldn’t want to do so in a Freelander,I just keep up with the traffic flow.

I had a similar noise when I turned my car off,turned out to be a couple of small stones trapped under the heat shield,might be worth a look first.
